Well, I have hit a snag. Not a bad snag, but a snag nevertheless.
It turns out that the i7 Processor I ordered for my computer did not include any sort of cooling solution. This left me with another choice to make. Do I order a heat sink and the extra fans I originally figured I would need, or do I order a liquid cooling system? If I order the heat sink, I run the risk of getting one that may not be adequate. But liquid-cooled thermal control is both quiet and very efficient, and since either way I need to order something, I might as well go with what will work best in the long run.
So now I just have to determine which liquid-cooling solution will be best for my setup. and factor its cost in with the remaining elements I need for this monster I’m creating. This is indeed a journey I am undertaking. I knew there would be side-stops along the way, and this is just one of them. I fully intend to do all of this right.
I have a lot going on this week, but I managed to put together a Digital Bagpipe demo. So far, all I have been doing is talking, when I need to be delivering. I need to be learning to use the audio exporting functionality of my Yamaha DGX-660 and this demo was my first use of it, and will serve a greater purpose than just learning for me.
